New parking tariffs in Dubai: What drivers need to know from April 4
Find out the new parking zone codes and what they mean

DUBAI: Starting April 4, Dubai’s paid public parking system will see a significant shift as new peak-hour pricing comes into effect.
The new variable tariff system, introduced by Parkin PJSC, aims to optimise parking management and regulate traffic flow across high-demand areas.
The revised pricing, approved by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), will apply across multiple zones and will introduce higher fees during peak hours while keeping off-peak prices unchanged.
Peak and Off-Peak hours
The new parking tariffs introduce peak and off-peak timings:
- Morning Peak: 8 AM – 10 AM
- Evening Peak: 4 PM – 8 PM
During off-peak hours (10 AM – 4 PM & 8 PM – 10 PM), standard parking charges remain unchanged. Parking continues to be free on Sundays and public holidays. The changes will impact both standard and premium parking zones across Dubai.
Premium parking costs
Parkin, in collaboration with the RTA, has reclassified parking zones, especially in areas near metro stations, busy commercial districts, and high-demand residential zones. The previous A, B, C, and D zones will now be labeled as AP, BP, CP, and DP for premium areas, where peak-hour fees will be considerably higher.
For example, in Al Barsha (Zone CP), the new premium rates during peak hours will be:
- 1 hour: Dh6 (previously Dh2)
- 2 hours: Dh12 (previously Dh5)
- 3 hours: Dh18 (previously Dh8)
- 4 hours: Dh24 (previously Dh11)

Additional parking costs
Apart from the updated tariffs, parking rates will also rise significantly for special locations such as Dubai World Trade Centre. During major events, parking will cost Dh25 per hour in designated spots.
Additionally, new parking signs reflecting the updated pricing and zone classifications are already being installed across Dubai. The Parkin app has also been updated with the revised zone codes, although standard tariffs remain unchanged until April 4.
With the variable pricing system set to begin after Eid Al Fitr, Dubai drivers are advised to check their regular parking spots for any classification changes and adjust their schedules accordingly to avoid extra costs.
